MULTI TASKER 1210 N TO INDONESIA

More than a decade after the first delivery of two KRC 800s for Indonesian Railways in 2004, TECHNE signed a new contract to supply a railway crane in November 2015.

The Multi Tasker KRC 1210 N has a 150 tonne carrying capacity and is a modern, state-of-the art crane with a control system that meets the very latest safety guidelines. As well as the automatic super-elevation compensation system, the crane has a pivoting counterweight system which moves parallel to the track axis when the boom swings to the side. This is a way of avoiding obstacles behind the crane such as masts or walls. Techne is the only crane manufacturer in the world that has managed to use this system successfully for years, even on narrow gauges. The two cranes which were delivered in 2004 are based at the Bandung and Solo depots on the island of Java, whereas the Multi Tasker KRC 1210 N is destined for breakdown service on the narrow gauge railway in North Sumatra.

Once the crane is erected, the pivoting counterweight enables recovery operations to be carried out on just one of the two supports – extremely useful in emergency situations when time is of the essence. Working with our local partner PT Multi Graha Teknika, TECHNE will complete commissioning and handover to the customer in Medan in the second quarter of 2017.
