TRANSPORT LOGISTICS FOR CRUDE IRON AND SLAG IN INDONESIA

At the end of 2013, the steelworks of the two steel producers from Korea and Indonesia, Posco and Krakatau Steel will go into operation in Cilegon near Jakarta. Three million tonnes of steel girders are to be produced there per year. For key transportation jobs, the companies have picked a Techne mobile pig iron handling system, based on three special Multi Mover M 600 transporters and a mobile Multi Mover Y 550 ladle crane.  Another key aspect in transport logistics with regard to downstream steel production is conveying the molten slag. To do this job, Techne developed the biggest vehicles to date in the Slag Taurus P series with lifting capacities of up to 150 tonnes and 353 kW motors.
