NEW SAFETY GUIDELINE COMPREHENSIVELY MET

As of this year, Techne is able to offer a driver’s cab protective roof with FOPS (falling object protection structure) pursuant to EN 23164 – earth-moving machinery – roll-over and falling object protective structures. The level 2 test run with a 288-kilogram cylinder falling from a 4.10-metre drop height was passed successfully; the FOPS certification pursuant to ISO 3449:2005 was issued. The implementation of new safety guidelines is planned starting in 2016 for all ArcelorMittal locations. The first specifications for future service agreements already contain this requirement in concrete form. Techne is the first provider in the slag transporter sector to meet this comprehensive guideline with the Slag Taurus series. In the form of a specially configured ArcelorMittal safety package, Techne has helped customers to quickly and completely meet this new specification. The first Slag Taurus P 50 with the ArcelorMittal safety package will be delivered in summer 2016 to a service provider for use in a Belgian steel mill.
