LONDON UNDERGROUND ORDER
18.02.2016
The London Underground is not only the oldest in the world, but also the broadest network in Europe. At almost 400 kilometres, just half of the rail lines of the “Tube” are underground. Whether as a visitor or a resident, everybody relies on a functioning regional traffic system. More than seven billion euros (GBP 5.54 billion) is being invested in expanding and modernising the London Underground network. In 2017, Techne will deliver two Multi Tasker 250 track construction cranes, eight Switch Tilter crossing transport wagons as well as various beams, thus providing an important technical contribution to the project. The highlight: in the extremely narrow tunnel environment, the cranes and crossing wagons work optimally together in tandem operation, which saves time and money when laying track sections. These are two important factors for the final quality and tight time constraints of this modernisation programme.
