NARROW AND BROAD GAUGE TRACK IN BANGLADESH

Due to historical reasons, Bangladesh Railways has two different track gauges that need to be supplied and ordered therefore two railway cranes. One Multi Tasker 1600 on a 1,676 mm track and one Multi Tasker 800 on a 1,000 mm track have now been delivered to the customer. A particular challenge was that the narrow-gauge crane cannot exceed a maximum height of 3.76 metres. At a height of 4.12 metres the broad-gauge crane has a load moment of 1,600 metre-tonnes and can, for example, put a 15-metre-long waggon weighing 98 tonnes on the rails in front of the buffer.
