DRAGON STEEL TAIWAN RECEIVES ANOTHER SLAG TAURUS

The Dragon Steel Corporation produces a massive five million tonnes of steel yearly and as such is the largest steel producer in Taiwan. It is a fully owned subsidiary of the China Steel Corporation in Taichung on the west coast of the island. The primary product is slab, that is manufactured in a continuous cast operation and then further processed into sheets. Techne slag transporters, Type P 60, have been used successfully in the upstream smelting process since 1998. The new machines are one class larger than their predecessors as over time the process factors, slag volume and slag weight, have increased. The new vehicle, a P 80, works with payloads up to 85 tonnes and a total gross load of approx. 150 tonnes. The customised technical packages and good experience with the previous delivery were decisive factors for this investment.
